Baking for the Dogs is so much fun and so easy! All you need is a handful of ingredients and your Dog will think you are the best baker in all the land. With Easter just around the corner we've tailored our favourite go to recipe for Dog biscuits to suit the season.
Hoppy Banana & Honey Bunny Biscuits
What you will need for the biscuits
275g Whole Wheat flour (you can use plain flour) and a little extra for rolling.
1 Egg
115ml warm water
Half of 1 Banana
1 teaspoon of Honey
What you will need for the icing (optional)
4 table spoons of Corn flour
4 tablespoons Water
2 tsp Honey
Ready, Steady, Bake
Preheat your oven to 180c/gas mark 4
In a large bowl dissolve the Honey with the warm water then add all the remaining ingredients. Mix with hands or spoon until the mixture starts to form together in a ball.
Take the mixture out of the bowl onto a floured surface and knead for about 3 minutes.
Grab a rolling pin and roll out your dough until about 1/2 inch thick. Using any Cookie cutter - we've gone for Rabbits and Chicks - cut out as many biscuit shapes as you can and place onto a baking sheet on a large baking tray.
Once biscuits are on a baking tray load them into the oven for 30 minuets.
Once ready remove from the oven and carefully put the biscuits onto a wire rack to cool.
Now grab a coffee, fuss your Dog and let the biscuits cool before starting the next step.
The Icing
Place your Corn Flour into a medium sized bowl, add the water a teaspoon at a time. When you reach halfway through the water stir in the Honey then add the remaining water until you reach the desired consistency. This might seem thin at first before it hardens.
Apply the icing as desired onto your Easter Biscuits (make sure the biscuits are cool)
Refrigerate for best results.
Now grab your phone, take some photos of your creations! Be sure to tag @houndsnewcastle and then serve to your Dogs!
